Sow indoors February - April, 1.5cm/half-inch deep. Temperature 70°F/21°C. When seedlings emerge reduce temperature to 60-65°F/15-18°C. When seedlings are 5cm/2in high, transplant to 7.5cm/3in pots and then to growing bags or the greenhouse border. Harden off in June and plant on a sunny sheltered spot in the garden. Caution: These peppers may be very hot – always wash hands after handling as the juice can sting the skin and eyes. Keep well watered. Harvest July-October.
