Chilli Pepper Plants

Chilli Pepper Plants

If you love growing chillies, you need plants that deliver the spice. Our 9cm potted chilli plants arrive strong, well-rooted, and ready to take off as soon as they’re planted. Whether you're after fiery heat or something milder, we have the variety for you.

For serious spice, the World’s Hottest Chilli Plant Collection brings together three legendary varieties: Carolina Reaper, Trinidad Moruga Scorpion Yellow, and Armageddon F1, each guaranteed to push your heat tolerance to its limit. If you want a more manageable burn, chillies such as jalapenos and sweet peppers have all the strong flavours without the fire. Like our herb plants, our chilli plants are perfect for a windowsill garden.

Every plant in our range is chosen for its strong performance and high yield. With minimal care, you'll be harvesting your fresh chillies in no time. Browse our full selection below and start growing something new with D.T. Brown.

When to Plant Chilli Pepper Plants UK

Chilli peppers grow best indoors in the UK, where they can be kept warm and protected from unpredictable weather. Start planting in April, placing them in a heated greenhouse, conservatory, or on a sunny windowsill. For best results, they need consistently warm temperatures of at least 15°C. Choose a bright location with plenty of direct sunlight, as chillies need at least six hours of light daily.

How to Grow Chilli Pepper Plants

Place your chilli plants in pots filled with free-draining, nutrient-rich compost for successful indoor growing. Place them in the warmest, sunniest spot (ideally a south-facing windowsill or heated greenhouse). Water regularly, but allow the soil to dry slightly between watering to prevent root rot. As your chilli plants grow, feed them weekly with a high-potassium fertiliser to support their flowering and fruiting. Hand-pollinate flowers by gently shaking the plant or using a soft brush. To maximise the yield of each plant, pick your chillies regularly once they ripen.
