Create a colourful edible display with this compact, exceptionally productive chilli. The gently trailing plants become covered with small fruits that ripen through purple, cream, yellow and orange before turning bright red. Reaching approximately 80,000 Scoville Heat Units, the chillies deliver a powerful heat and can be used fresh, dried or added to sauces and marinades. Ideal for hanging baskets, window boxes and sunny patio containers.

SOW INDOORS February-April, thinly 0.5cm/quarter-in deep in pots or trays of compost. Keep at approximately 21°C/70°F. After germination, grow on at 15-18°C/60-65°F. Transplant seedlings into individual 7.5cm/3in pots when approximately 5cm/2in tall, then move into hanging baskets, window boxes, patio containers or a greenhouse. For outdoor crops, harden off and move outside in June to a sunny, sheltered position. Feed regularly once fruits begin to form.
