Prolific crops of thick walled blocky fruits are produced on vigorous plants. They will do well in a sheltered position outdoors as well as in a cool greenhouse.

SOW INDOORS from February to April, 0.5cm/quarter-inch deep, in temperature 210C/700F. When seedlings emerge reduce temperature to 15-180C/ 60-650F. Transplant when seedlings are 5cm/2in high, to 7.5cm/3in pots and then to pots in the greenhouse. Harden off outdoor crops in June and plant in pots in a sunny sheltered spot on the patio. Harvest July-October
