Brassica Seeds

Brassica Seeds

Brassicas are the backbone of the British veg garden – hardy, reliable, and bursting with flavour. From crisp cabbage seeds and tender broccoli seeds to versatile Brussels sprouts seeds, these nutrient-packed greens thrive in our cool climate.

Whether you’re sowing for winter harvests or planning a year-round kitchen supply, our Brassica seed range has something for every plot, patch, and pot. You can find a range of F1 seeds in our collection, trusted for their disease resistance, uniformity, and reliable growth, with a wide range of unique, flavoursome varieties available.

Growing Brassica Seeds

Brassicas are the champions of the veg patch — hardy, healthy, and endlessly rewarding. From reliable summer broccoli such as our Calabrese Marathon F1 AGM Seeds to the perfect Christmas sprout like our Brussels Sprout Brenden F1 Seeds, our extensive seed range has something to suit every taste and interest.

Growing Brassica seeds is a relatively simple process, with them being reliable growers that typically present little to no problems. They should be sown in soil that’s firm and not too acidic, and they can be sown outdoors when the soil is warm or indoors to protect them from pests and cold weather.

If sown indoors, Brassica plants can generally be planted out between late spring and early summer after being hardened off. Then, water well in dry spells, keep free of weeds, add a layer of natural mulch, and use a liquid fertiliser to keep them well looked after as they grow.
