Trinidad Perfume produces generous crops of lantern-shaped fruits that ripen from pale green to golden yellow and add wonderful depth to salads, sauces, marinades and Caribbean-inspired dishes. SOW INDOORS February-April, thinly 0.5cm/quarter-in deep in pots or trays of compost. Keep at 20-25°C/68-77°F. After germination, grow on at 15-18°C/60-65°F. Transplant seedlings into individual 7.5cm/3in pots when approximately 5cm/2in tall, then move into large containers, grow bags or a greenhouse border. Pinch out the growing tips at approximately 20cm/8in to encourage bushier plants and feed regularly once fruits begin to form.
