Creamy Mashed Turnips and Potatoes

 A smooth, comforting side that pairs earthy turnips with buttery potatoes and rosemary.

Ingredients:

900g turnips, peeled and chopped

450g potatoes, peeled and chopped

4 garlic cloves

1 rosemary sprig

1l of stock or water

60ml double cream

2 tbsp butter

salt & pepper

Method

Place turnips, potatoes, garlic and rosemary in a saucepan and cover with stock.  

 

Boil for 15 to 20 minutes until tender, removing rosemary halfway through.  

 

Drain and mash with cream and butter until smooth. 

 

Season to taste and serve warm
