Pak Choi Seeds

Pak Choi Seeds

Pak choi, also known as “bok choi” and “pok choi” is a Chinese cabbage seed, coming as part of our oriental vegetable seeds range. These vegetables work well in many oriental dishes, such as stir-fries, and also work well in salads with their mild, cabbage flavour. Their leaves can be harvested several times for crisp, juicy leaves that are ‘cut and come again’, and work excellently to add colour to dishes.

Shop pak choi seeds at D.T. Brown, with many flavoursome and resistant varieties of these Brassica seeds available. With over a century of experience behind us, you can trust that our seeds are quality and provide you with healthy and vigorously growing crops.

Growing Pak Choi from Seed

Pak choi seeds are fast-growing and hardy as a low-maintenance seed to grow. They’re simple vegetable seeds to grow, as they generally don’t pose too many problems. They prefer to be grown in an area with partial shade and should be watered regularly. They grow well in soil with added well-rotted manure or garden compost.

Pak choi is usually sown in spring or autumn, being suited to growing in cooler temperatures. You can even achieve some winter crops by protecting your seeds with the use of a garden cloche.

Baby leaves can be harvested from around 30 days of growth, and can be taken as cut-and-come-again leaves. Their hearts will be ready for harvesting from around 45-75 days.
