Add height, structure and elegance to perennial borders with this cottage-garden classic. Upright stems carry crisp white flowers, each highlighted by distinctive purple stamens. Semi-evergreen rosettes of foliage provide further interest after flowering and into winter. The nectar-rich blooms are adored by bees and last well as cut flowers, making Snowy Spires a beautiful and valuable addition to borders and containers.

SOW INDOORS February-April. Gently press the seeds into the surface of moist seed compost without covering them. Keep at approximately 20°C/68°F. Transplant seedlings into individual pots or larger trays when they are large enough to handle. Harden off in late May, then plant out in June, spacing plants 60cm/24in apart. Keep moist while establishing and remove faded flower spikes to encourage further blooms. Flowers the following year.
