Triteleia Queen Fabiola Delicate violet-blue flowers with a darker line along each petal gather in loose clusters above slender stems, giving borders a light, airy finish in early summer. The graceful flowers look especially effective threading through lower-growing plants and can also be cut for a vase.

The narrow leaves appear before the flowers and gradually fade as the flower stems develop. Allow room for stems to reach around 40–60cm, depending on conditions, and plant several bulbs together for a stronger display.

Planting and care: Plant in spring in a sunny position with light, well-drained soil, or use a deep pot with peat-free compost and added grit. Water while the plant is actively growing, then keep it much drier once the leaves die back. This is not a fully hardy bulb: in colder areas, grow in a movable container and protect it from frost and prolonged winter wet.
