FAQs

What type of tomato is Sweet Aperitif?

Sweet Aperitif are a cherry tomato variety producing sweet, snack-sized fruits on large, branched trusses. They grow on indeterminate vines and are open-pollinated. The tomatoes are bright red, shiny and perfect for anyone who enjoys a sweet but balanced flavour.

Do you remove side shoots from Sweet Aperitif Tomatoes?

Yes, you should remove side shoots from Sweet Aperitif Tomatoes. They produce tall vines that need to be supported through the growing season. Removing the side shoots or suckers will help maintain balanced growth and maximum productivity.

Side shoots grow from the point where the leaf meets the stem. They can be snapped off when small, or cut with a sharp pair of secateurs when they are more than a few millimetres in diameter to prevent damage to the stem.

Are Sweet Aperitif Tomatoes determinate or indeterminate?

Sweet Aperitif Tomato Seeds produce tall, indeterminate vines. They can reach up to two meters in a growing season and will grow well outdoors and indoors. Indeterminate vines need to be supported, so provide them with something to climb up, and make sure to tie them in regularly, as they cannot support themselves.
