Tomato Moneymaker is an indeterminate cordon tomato, which means it grows as a tall single stem that you train upwards, and it keeps producing fruit all summer long. It's a British heirloom variety with medium-sized, sweet-flavoured tomatoes ideal for salads or sauce. It's straightforward to grow in a greenhouse or sunny spot and gives you tomatoes from July through autumn. You'll need to support it with a stake and pinch out the side shoots, so it focuses on fruiting.
Moneymaker tomato seeds are typically sown indoors in late February to March in the UK. This gives the seedlings time to grow strong before they're planted out after the last frost, usually in late May or early June. They'll then start flowering and producing fruit from mid-July onwards.
If you're growing in a greenhouse, you can sow a bit earlier (mid-February) since they won't need hardening off.
From sowing Moneymaker tomato seeds to picking your first ripe tomato takes around 16-20 weeks. Your plants start flowering and producing fruit, with ripe tomatoes ready to pick from mid-July onwards. Once they start producing, they'll keep giving you tomatoes right through to autumn.
