Tomato Gardener's Delight Seeds

Gardener’s Delight is a classic indeterminate cordon, tall-growing cherry tomato variety, prized by UK gardeners for its reliable performance and superb flavour. This open-pollinated heirloom produces bite-sized red fruits on long trusses, balancing sweetness and tang for fresh eating or salads. It thrives in greenhouses, polytunnels, or sunny outdoor spots, earning the RHS Award of Garden Merit for its heavy crops and disease tolerance.

Sow seeds indoors from late February to early April in small pots or modules filled with moist compost. Once your seedlings reach 15cm tall, harden them off after the last frost in late May, then plant 40cm apart in a sunny greenhouse spot or sheltered outdoor bed. Make sure you tie to supports as they grow tall and enjoy heavy crops of red fruits from mid-summer onwards.

Gardener’s Delight tomato seeds take about 7-14 days to germinate when sown indoors from late February to early April in moist compost. Seedlings grow quickly, reaching 15cm tall in 4-6 weeks, ready to plant out after the last frost in late May.
