Thrip Nematodes 60sqm are microscopic worms that seek out thrip larvae and pupae in the soil and on leaf surfaces, then feed and multiply inside them to prevent these pests from damaging your precious plants. Thrips, also known as thunder flies, are sap-sucking insects that can cause significant harm to leaves and flowers in gardens, greenhouses, and houseplants. With around 150 species found in Britain, some thrips cause noticeable damage including dull green leaves that develop silvery-white discolouration marked with tiny black excrement spots, distorted growth at shoot tips and flower buds, and white flecking on petals from pigment loss.

Adult thrips are narrow-bodied, up to 2mm in length, with two pairs of strap-like wings fringed with hairs that fold back over their bodies at rest. The immature nymph stages are wingless, generally creamy yellow, and paler than adults. In greenhouses, thrips breed all year round, and many species survive outdoors year-round, ready to attack when warm weather arrives.

Nematodes are naturally found in soil—by using this product you are simply topping up the natural population. These renowned biological control products provide many benefits over traditional gardening chemicals and are a key ally for organic gardeners.

Application Guidelines:

• Recommended minimum soil temperature: 5°C (50°F)
• Can be applied all year round
• Soil or compost must be moist before application and kept moist for at least 2–4 weeks afterwards; avoid waterlogging
• Apply during evenings or dull conditions to avoid full sunlight
• If applying over plants, water within 30 minutes to wash nematodes off leaves and back onto the soil

Storage and Handling:

• Store in refrigerator below 5°C (50°F) and use within the best before date stated
• Do not freeze or expose to high temperatures
• This is a live product with an expiry date of approximately 2 weeks (printed on packet); non-returnable
• Use entire packet at one time; do not store made-up solution
• Do not use chemical insecticides during nematode application
