This great-value Sweet Potato Plant Collection includes three of our favourite British-grown varieties, all well suited to growing in the UK climate. You will receive 15 young plants in total, with 5 plants of each variety listed below.

Vineland Early Orange
A reliable and productive variety selected for its higher yields of vibrant orange tubers. Vineland Early Orange produces thick, oval tubers with excellent flavour, making it ideal for roasting or baking.

Erato White
A gourmet white-fleshed variety bred as an improvement on ‘Gusto’. It produces large, robust tubers with creamy white flesh and an attractive violet-purple skin. The flavour is sweet and rich, making it a delicious alternative to a traditional baked potato.

Erato Violet
A striking and unusual variety with smaller tubers that more than make up for their size with intense purple colouring that remains after cooking. This true gourmet sweet potato has a rich, sweet flavour and adds colour and interest to a wide range of dishes.

Sweet potatoes like it hot, they crop best when kept at temperatures between 20 and 27°C (70 to 80°F). So if you’re growing outside, start by warming the soil now with a covering of black polythene and then planting through holes in the plastic when you receive the plants. We recommend covering the plants with a cloche or fleece as the extra heat will make a real difference. If you are growing in a greenhouse or polytunnel, plant in containers or directly into beds and train the foliage up canes or string. They prefer well drained soil and will need regular watering and feeding, harvest in late autumn when the leaves have turned yellow and died back.
