Sweet Potato Erato White is an interesting alternative to the regular potato, producing attractive violet-purple skinned tubers with sweet, creamy white flesh. An improvement on the previously offered ‘Erato Gusto’, it is a delicious choice for baking and bringing something different to the kitchen garden.

Well suited to a warm, sunny position and large containers, this rewarding variety is supplied as strong, well-rooted young plants, ready for growing on for a satisfying home-grown harvest.

Characteristics & growing conditions

Position: Full Sun
Plant out once the risk of frost has passed, choosing a warm, sunny position. Sweet potatoes thrive in warm conditions and can be grown in the ground or in large containers; a greenhouse or polytunnel is particularly beneficial in cooler areas. Keep plants regularly watered and fed throughout the growing season. Harvest the tubers in September and October, before the first frosts. After lifting, the tubers can be stored for several months in suitable conditions.
