Discover more about Sturon AGM Onion Sets
Sturon onions are a very good variety for storage, reliable cropping and resistance to bolting. They have fairly large, round bulbs that are straw-coloured, like traditional onions, with a good flavour and crispness.
Plant sturon onion sets between mid-February and mid-April in the UK when the ground is not waterlogged or frozen. Plant your onion sets in rows around 15cm apart and leave around 30cm between the rows.
March is generally considered the best month to plant onion sets. It is best to wait until the soil conditions are not too wet or too cold. Harvest your onions from August to September.
