Raspberry Octavia Fruit Plants (Floricane) are an excellent way to extend the kitchen-garden raspberry harvest, producing large, flavoursome red berries later in the summer season. This RHS Award of Garden Merit variety is vigorous and hardy, with a productive crop that's ideal for eating fresh or adding to desserts.

As a floricane, Octavia crops on the previous year's canes. Train the stems between horizontal wires, then cut out the fruited canes after harvesting and tie in strong new growth ready for next year's crop.

Plant bare root canes in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained acidic to neutral soil in a sunny, sheltered position. Train canes between horizontal wires. As a summer-fruiting floricane, remove fruited canes to ground level after harvest and tie in strong new canes to crop the following summer.
