Quadgrow Watering System Auto Fill Float Valve Kit x 2 can be added to your Quadgrow system or to a reservoir tray holding plant pots, automatically maintaining a consistent level of water in the reservoir or tray without the use of a power supply.
This multipurpose float valve is ideal for automatically maintaining water levels within a container. It is perfectly suited to the SmartReservoir tanks used in the Quadgrow Pots Watering System, 4 Pots and Quadgrow Pots Watering System, 8 Pots, but can also be used with deep trays, propagation reservoirs and pet water troughs.
Our ingenious float valve automatically tops up water in a planter, tray or drinking station as levels fall. No power supply is required. It can be used on any suitable container with a minimum depth of 10cm.
The valve can maintain virtually any depth of water, with a minimum water level of 25mm, depending on where it is positioned within the side wall of the chosen container. This helps create a reliable watering environment for healthy plant growth and productive harvests.
The kit includes two float valves, 1.8 metres of tubing for each valve and a tap connector fitting pre-fitted with a filter and barbed pipe reducer to suit the supplied tubing.
How to use:
- Push the float valve through a 21mm hole in the vessel or container to be filled. The centre of the hole should be approximately 15mm above the water depth you wish to maintain.
- Push one end of the supplied tube onto the threaded port of the float valve using the fittings provided.
- Connect the other end of the tube to the hose connecting tap on your chosen water butt or storage tank.
- Position the water butt or tank at least 20cm above the vessel being filled to maintain sufficient gravity-fed water pressure.
Please note that the reservoir, tray or trough must have a 21mm installation hole. Quadgrow SmartReservoir tanks already feature this hole. If fitting the valve to your own container, it should be at least 10cm deep.
The water butt or storage tank must be fitted with a suitable push-on (click-fit) hose connector tap. This kit is designed for gravity-fed systems only and is not suitable for high-pressure mains or pumped water supplies.
