PUMPKIN Rocket F1 Seeds are a standout variety for home-grown flavour and autumn celebrations. This large Halloween pumpkin produces dark orange, oval fruits averaging up to 9kg, with attractively ribbed, sweet, and tasty flesh perfect for cooking and carving. With good yields and consistent growth, it’s a reliable choice for any passionate grower looking for quality and flavour.
For indoor sowing, start between March and May in small pots of moist compost. Sow seeds singly, edgeways into the compost, and cover lightly. Keep covered with glass, polythene, or a propagator lid at approximately 15–20°C. Seedlings emerge in 7–21 days. Once seedlings reach the 5–6 leaf stage, harden off outside for a few days, avoiding frosts, and then transplant 120 cm apart in your growing position. Keep soil moist and weed free, feeding with a liquid feed every 7–10 days once fruits begin to swell.
For outdoor sowing, plant directly into a prepared seed bed in May. Sow 2 seeds per position, 120 cm apart, covering lightly with fine soil and firming gently. Thin to a single seedling per position when large enough, keeping soil moist and free from weeds.
Harvest from September to November, ideally before the first frosts. Fruits can be stored for several weeks in a cool, dry, frost-free location, ensuring maximum freshness and flavour.
