Potato Casablanca (Extra Early Seed Potato) AGM
Product Description
Introducing the RHS Award of Garden Merit-winning Casablanca potato variety: an extra early seed potato that has garnered rave reviews from our customers. This new, fast-growing Scottish potato offers a perfect blend of quality and versatility.
The Casablanca potato variety produces long, medium-sized oval tubers with shallow eyes, smooth white skin, and creamy white flesh bursting with flavour. A fantastic early-cropping all-rounder, it excels in various culinary applications – whether baked, boiled, or chipped.
This disease-resistant seed potato is an excellent choice for newcomers to potato growing and is rapidly becoming an exhibitor's classic. It boasts excellent resistance to common diseases and eelworms. Its compact growth also makes the Casablanca ideal for patio potato planters, bringing the joy of home-grown potatoes to even the smallest spaces.
To maximise your Casablanca potato harvest, we recommend chitting prior to planting out. This process encourages seed potatoes to sprout, allowing them to establish more readily and leading to bigger crops. Simply place them in an old egg box, blunt end up, until the shoots are approximately 1 ½ to 2½ cm (½ to 1in) long.
