Grafted Pepper Pillar Sweet Orange Vegetable Plants make it simple to grow a generous crop of super-sweet, bright orange peppers at home. Fruits develop along the central stem, creating compact, upright plants that are easy to manage and ideal for patios, containers and smaller growing spaces. Bred for high-density cropping with minimal maintenance, the fruits develop from green to rich orange and provide a delicious home-grown ingredient for salads, lunchboxes, cooking or simply eating fresh.
Grafted vegetable plants offer greater vigour and improved resistance to soil-borne pests and diseases, such as nematodes – particularly useful when growing in greenhouse border soil each year where crop rotation can be limited. The grafting process combines the best attributes of two different plants, using a vigorous species rootstock and a productive hybrid variety to produce stronger plants, heavier yields and a longer cropping life than standard seedlings.
Traditionally suited to greenhouse growing, plants can also crop well outdoors in a warm, sunny and sheltered position. Keep plants well watered and fed during active growth to encourage a plentiful harvest, including during cooler British summers.
Supplied as 3 well-established plants in 9cm pots. Please do not remove the plastic grafting clip – it will fall off naturally as the plant grows.
