Grafted Pepper Corno Di Toro Vegetable Plants deliver outstanding flavour and generous yields, producing long, tapering peppers up to 20cm that are prized for their sweet, full-bodied taste. Known in Italy as “Bull’s Horns”, these vibrant fruits are superb whether picked green or allowed to ripen red, making them ideal for grilling, roasting, frying, stuffing, or serving fresh in salads.
Grafted vegetable plants offer us gardeners’ plants which have greater vigour and much more resistance to soil borne pests and diseases, such as nematodes – particularly useful if you grow in the greenhouse border soil each year, where crop rotation is somewhat limited! The grafting process brings together the best attributes of two different plants – a species rootstock and a hybrid variety. The hybrid variety is grafted to the species rootstock to produce plants which are strong and vigorous, which in turn, produce more fruits and heavier yields. Although traditionally greenhouse grown, these plants will also crop well outside in a warm, sunny position – even more reason to grow them.
The vigorous rootstock boosts resilience to soil-borne pests and diseases, making these plants particularly valuable in greenhouse borders where rotation is limited. Their extra strength encourages heavier cropping and more reliable performance throughout summer. Supplied as well-established young plants in 3 x 9cm pots. Please do not remove the plastic grafting clip – it will fall away naturally as the plant grows.
