Peat Free Seed Compost 10ltr is a coir-based, peat-free compost with a light, crumbly texture, carefully formulated to support reliable seed germination and strong root development – the essential foundations of healthy, productive plants.
Tried and tested by our experts, this blend is designed to give your seeds the very best start. The coir is produced as a by-product of coconut processing and is ethically sourced from sustainable supplies. A balanced mix of coarse and fine fibres creates the ideal structure for sowing, ensuring excellent aeration while retaining just the right amount of moisture around developing roots.
High-quality slow-release fertiliser and added seaweed powder provide a steady, balanced feed from germination through to sturdy seedlings, supporting even growth without overwhelming young plants. The compost retains moisture well, helping to reduce the risk of drying out at this crucial early stage.
Supplied as a compressed block that makes up to 10 litres when rehydrated, it comes in a biodegradable bag ready for easy preparation. Simply remove and recycle the card sleeve, open out the bag with the block inside, add 3 litres of clean, lukewarm water and leave for five minutes to absorb. Break up and mix the compost, adding a little more water if required, until you achieve a fine, even texture. It is then ready for sowing.
