Pick the young leaves for fresh autumn salads, sandwiches and garnishes, or allow them to grow larger for adding to stir-fries and other quick-cooked dishes. Sow outdoors August-October, protecting later sowings with a cold frame or under glass. Sow thinly in rows around 30cm apart and thin seedlings to approximately 5cm apart.
