Sow indoors January-April for larger bulbs, thinly around 0.5cm deep in trays of seed compost at approximately 15°C. Transplant when large enough to handle, harden off during April-May and plant outdoors around 20cm apart in rows 30cm apart. Alternatively sow outdoors March-May directly into the growing position, around 1.5cm deep, thinning seedlings to approximately 20cm apart. Keep well watered and weed free. Harvest August-September when bulbs are mature.
