Mixed Lettuce Leaves Seed Mats make it wonderfully simple to grow a colourful supply of fresh salad leaves in patio pots. Each pre-sown mat contains an equal mixture of Catalogna, Cocarde, Curled Red American, Grand Rapids, Salad Bowl Red and Rossa di Trento, removing the fiddly job of spacing individual seeds. Pick the tender leaves young for salads and sandwiches or allow them to grow larger, harvesting a few at a time so they can regrow for further cuts. The pack contains three 20cm seed mats with 137 seeds per mat.

Sow outdoors March-August. Fill a large patio pot with compost, leaving a small gap below the rim, place one seed mat flat on the surface and cover lightly with compost. Water gently and position the pot in a warm, sheltered location. Keep moist while the seedlings establish. Harvest leaves from around 5cm high, taking a few at a time just before use and leaving the growing points intact. Plants can regrow for up to four cuts. For a continuous supply, sow further mats every three to four weeks. Harvest April-October.
