Lily Dark Secret A useful choice when a summer border needs stronger colour and height. This Asiatic lily produces upright stems topped with deep velvet-burgundy flowers, almost black in some light, and is well suited to cutting.

Its upright stems carry rich, dark flowers above narrow green leaves. Plant several bulbs together for a more noticeable effect, or place them among lighter-flowered perennials to make the colour stand out.

Plant the three bulbs around 10–15cm deep in fertile, well-drained soil during spring. Choose a sunny or lightly shaded spot and leave room for stems to develop. Water during dry weather and use a deep pot with drainage holes if growing on the patio. After flowering, leave the foliage in place until it dies back naturally, helping the bulbs build strength for the following year.

About our bulbs: We work closely with our growers to select quality bulbs for British gardens. Our range is trialled and tested at our Suffolk trials ground or by our growers, helping us choose varieties you can plant with confidence.
