Jostaberry Fruit Plant combines useful qualities of blackcurrants and gooseberries in one vigorous, thornless fruit bush. The self-fertile plants produce good crops of dark red-black berries in July and August, with a flavour that develops from gooseberry-like to richer blackcurrant notes as the fruit ripens.

The berries are useful for fresh eating, pies, jams, preserves and freezing. Jostaberry also has natural resistance to gooseberry mildew and leaf spot, making it a practical addition to a productive kitchen garden.
