Grafted Vegetable Plants Collection consists of three well-established 9cm plants, one each of Tomato Supersweet F1 (Cherry), Cucumber Baby Rocky F1 and Pepper Jericho (Sweet).
Tomato Supersweet F1 produces an amazing crop of small red cherry tomatoes with a superbly sweet taste. A prolific fruiter, it was placed in the top three of the 2007 Tastiest Tomato Competition, making it an excellent choice for salads, snacking and adding natural sweetness to your dishes.
Cucumber Baby Rocky F1 is a vigorous plant that yields baby cucumbers around 8–9cm (3–4in) in length with a deliciously crisp flavour. Early to mature and reliable in both low and high temperatures, it produces plenty of fruits, perfect for snacks, salads and lunch boxes.
Aubergine Black Pearl An excellent variety with a strong habit producing healthy yields of large, deep purple, oval-shaped fruits of superb quality - well suited to the UK climate. The fruits are easy to pick and the plants are suitable for growing in containers too
Grafted vegetable plants offer us gardeners’ plants which have greater vigour and much more resistance to soil borne pests and diseases, such as nematodes – particularly useful if you grow in the greenhouse border soil each year, where crop rotation is somewhat limited! The grafting process brings together the best attributes of two different plants – a species rootstock and a hybrid variety.
The hybrid variety is grafted to the species rootstock to produce plants which are strong and vigorous, which in turn, produce more fruits and heavier yields. Although traditionally greenhouse grown, we have found, over the last few years, that plants, if placed in a warm and sunny position, will also crop well outside too – even more reason to grow them.
Supplied as well-established plants in 9cm pots. Please note – do not remove the plastic grafting clip. It will fall off naturally as the plant grows.
