Evening Primrose is a traditional garden favourite producing beautiful yellow flowers that open as daylight begins to fade, releasing their fragrance into the evening air. Its compact habit makes it well suited to patio containers and the front of borders, where the flowers bring both colour and scent through summer.

Position: Full Sun and Partial Shade
Sow indoors February-April at 18-20°C, covering the seed lightly with fine compost. Transplant seedlings into individual 8cm pots when large enough to handle. Harden off from late May and plant outdoors in early June, spacing around 30cm apart. Keep plants watered while establishing. Flowers June-September, often in the first year from an early indoor sowing.
