This compact bush variety doesn't sprawl like some courgettes and so does very well in a large pot filled with rich organic matter. Delicious, rich green round fruits have an excellent flavour and texture. Best harvested when around the size of a pool/snooker ball hence the name.

When March to May.
Where In pots of seed compost.
How Sow singly into a pot edgeways into the compost. Cover with 1.5cm of compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Keep at approx. 15-20°C. Seedlings appear 7-14 days.
Care At 5-6 leaf stage, stand outside for a few days late May (avoid frosts). Transplant 60cm apart in growing position.

Where In a well prepared seed bed in growing position.
How Sow 2 seeds per position, 60cm apart. Cover lightly with 1.5cm of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist.
Care Thin to one seedling per position.
Harvest July to October. Pick regularly to encourage cropping.
