Begonia odorata Mixed is a practical choice for summer hanging baskets and patio containers, combining a trailing habit with double flowers in assorted colours. The blooms are sweetly scented, adding another reason to place a basket near a seating area or doorway.

Start the bulbs in pots indoors in spring, using free-draining compost and keeping them frost-free until the weather warms. Move outdoors after the risk of frost has passed, in a sheltered position with partial shade. Keep the compost evenly moist without waterlogging it, feed regularly during flowering and remove faded blooms to keep the display tidy. Lift or bring containers under cover before autumn frosts, as begonias are not frost hardy.

About our bulbs: We work with experienced growers to select quality bulbs for British gardens. Our bulbs are assessed by growers or at our Suffolk trials ground so you can plant with confidence.
