Beetroot Boltardy is a much-loved classic, valued for its excellent resistance to bolting and its ability to be sown earlier than many varieties. It produces reliable crops of smooth, deep red roots with excellent flavour and quality across a wide range of soils. Delicious roasted, pickled or grated into salads, it is a dependable kitchen garden favourite. This generous pack contains 10g of seed; the exact seed count varies naturally according to seed size and growing conditions.

Sow outdoors from mid-March-July, thinly and directly into the growing position around 2.5cm deep. Space rows approximately 30cm apart and thin seedlings as necessary to around 10cm between plants. Make repeat sowings at regular intervals for a succession of tender roots. Keep plants well watered and weed free. Harvest May-October. For winter storage, lift mature roots in autumn, twist off the leaves and store in dry sand or soil in a frost-free place.
