Anemone Coronaria Sylphide Flower Bulbs

Anemone coronaria Sylphide Fresh rose-pink flowers bring a lively, uplifting splash of colour to the garden, each bloom set off by a dramatic dark centre. The delicate-looking petals create a softer effect than their vivid colour suggests, particularly when planted among white or blue spring flowers.

Growing to around 25cm, this compact anemone is a lovely way to brighten the front of a border or a collection of patio pots. Its colourful flowers also make charming little cut stems for the home.

Planting and care: Before planting, soak the dry bulbs in water for several hours to help them wake up. Plant in spring in a sunny, sheltered spot with well-drained soil, or use pots filled with peat-free compost that drains freely. Water when needed as growth begins, but avoid leaving the bulbs sitting in wet soil. Protect pots from severe frost and excessive winter rain; let the soil become drier once the leaves die back. Flowers usually follow in late spring to early summer after spring planting.
