Anemone Coronaria Mr Fokker Flower Bulbs

Anemone coronaria Mr Fokker Deep violet-blue petals open around a striking dark centre, giving these anemones a rich, almost velvety look. Their bold colour brings real depth to a sunny border and makes a beautiful contrast beside white flowers or softer spring shades.

The open, poppy-like flowers rise above finely cut green leaves on stems around 25cm tall. Plant in generous groups for an eye-catching patch of colour, or enjoy them close up in a patio pot. They are also lovely for small, informal flower arrangements.

Planting and care: Before planting, soak the dry bulbs in water for several hours to help them wake up. Plant in spring in a sunny, sheltered spot with well-drained soil, or use pots filled with peat-free compost that drains freely. Water when needed as growth begins, but avoid leaving the bulbs sitting in wet soil. Protect pots from severe frost and excessive winter rain; let the soil become drier once the leaves die back. Spring planting generally gives flowers in late spring or early summer, depending on the weather.
