Alyssum Carpet of Snow lives up to its name, forming low, spreading plants covered with masses of tiny pure white flowers. Also known as Sweet Alyssum, its gently perfumed blooms make a lovely choice for edging paths and borders or spilling from patio containers. Easy to grow and wonderfully free flowering, it provides months of summer colour while attracting visiting pollinators.

Sow indoors February-March, around 0.5cm deep at 10-15°C. Thin seedlings as necessary, harden off and plant outdoors from late May, spacing around 25cm apart. Alternatively sow outdoors March-May directly into the flowering position and thin as required. Keep moist while plants establish and trim faded flowers to encourage further blooms. Flowers June-October.
