Akado Onion Sets

Akado Onion Sets are a mid-early overwintering variety bred as an improvement on ‘Electric’, selected for stronger roots, enhanced disease tolerance and dependable yields. Well suited to UK growing conditions, they establish quickly in autumn and continue developing steadily through winter.

Plant in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun from September to October. As temperatures rise in spring, plants produce uniform, red-skinned bulbs with a firm texture and consistent size, making them ideal for a productive kitchen garden crop.

Ready to harvest from June into July, the bulbs offer a naturally sweet flavour that works equally well raw in salads or cooked in a variety of dishes. With excellent storage qualities and high yields, this variety ensures a reliable supply of home-grown onions packed with flavour.
