Grow reliable crops of fresh, flavoursome calabrese even where brassica diseases have previously caused problems. Monclano F1 produces firm, domed green heads with fine beads and has useful resistance to clubroot and downy mildew. The vigorous, high-yielding plants stand well, and after the main head has been harvested they continue producing plenty of tender side shoots for an extended crop.

SOW OUTDOORS March-May, thinly in a prepared seed bed. Transplant when large enough to handle. Keep well watered during dry weather. Cut the central head first, leaving the plant to produce further side shoots.
