Classic Cauliflower Cheese

A comforting favourite – tender cauliflower baked in a rich, cheesy sauce with a golden, bubbling top.

Ingredients:

1 large cauliflower, broken into florets

500ml milk

50g butter

4 tbsp flour

100g grated cheddar

2-3 tbsp breadcrumbs

Salt & pepper

Method

Heat the oven to 220°C (200°C fan).

Boil cauliflower for 5 minutes until just tender, then drain and place in an ovenproof dish.


In a saucepan, heat milk, butter and flour together, whisking until thick and smooth. 

 

Stir in most of the cheese, then pour over the cauliflower.

 

Top with remaining cheese and breadcrumbs, then bake for 20 minutes until golden and bubbling
