Easy to grow and reliable, they are ideal for the middle of borders and will return with an impressive display year after year. Seeds and other parts of the plant are harmful if eaten.

SOW INDOORS January-March for flowers in the same year, 0.5cm/quarter-in deep in pots or trays of compost. Keep at 15-20°C/60-68°F and moist; germination may take up to 42 days. Transplant individually into 8cm/3in pots, harden off and plant out after the risk of frost has passed, spacing plants 60cm/2ft apart. SOW OUTDOORS April-July for flowers the following year, in a prepared seed bed, 0.5cm/quarter-in deep. Thin seedlings to 5cm/2in apart and transplant into their flowering positions in autumn. Harmful if eaten.
