Indoor/Outdoor Variety - Despite its name this all-female, indoor/outdoor variety is easy to manage, producing beautifully sweet, bitter-free cues. Lovely crisp texture too. Pick from gherkin-size onwards.

Characteristics & growing conditions

Colour: Green
Sow indoors February-May, in 7.5cm/3in pots of compost, sow one seed on edge per pot, 1.5cm/half-inch deep. Temperature 68-77°F/20-25°C. Pot on to further pots or trays, spacing 5cm/2in apart, grow on at 60°F/15°C. Transplant once 3-4 true leaves have formed, plant out in growing bags in the greenhouse. Sow outdoors May-June, two seeds per position, spacings of 45cm/18in apart. Thin out to one plant per position when first true leaves appear. Protect with cloches in cold weather Train up wires and remove growing point at roof level. Harvest July-October.
