Enjoy generous crops of elegant golden-yellow French beans throughout the summer. The long, slender pods are tender, stringless and packed with fresh flavour when picked young, making them delicious steamed, added to salads or served alongside home-cooked meals. Vigorous climbing plants crop over a long period and make excellent use of vertical space. Provide tall supports and pick regularly to encourage further pods.

SOW INDOORS April-May, singly in pots of compost, 5cm/2in deep. Harden off after the risk of frost and plant out beside tall canes or netting. SOW OUTDOORS May-July, 5cm/2in deep, sowing two seeds at the base of each support and thinning to the strongest seedling. Space plants approximately 15-20cm/6-8in apart. Keep well watered during flowering and pick the young pods regularly to prolong cropping.
