Courgette Defender F1 has an open plant habit, making it very easy to harvest. It is also very early to crop (sometimes in June) and has good disease resistance.
Plant out after frost has passed, keep well watered in dry spells and you will soon be cutting masses of delicious, young courgettes. Best picked when about 15cm/6in long.

Want to know more about our Defender F1 courgette seeds? We answer your questions here.
Defender F1 courgette is a compact variety with an open growth habit, making it easy to see and harvest the crops. They typically grow to around 45cm (18 inches) tall and spread to around 90cm (35 inches) wide.
Sow Courgette Defender F1 seeds from March to April in the UK and keep them protected from frosts. Once they are large enough to go out, place them in a warm, sheltered location with plenty of sunlight and good airflow. They should be watered deeply to get them established, and again through dry spells, avoiding splashing water on the leaves. Continue harvesting when the courgettes are around 15cm (6 inches) long for the best flavour, and to encourage more growth.
No, courgette plants do not come back every year. Courgettes have a short lifespan, which completes within a single growing season, making them an annual plant. This means that they will need to be started from courgette seeds or bought as new courgette plants each year.
