Potatoes are one of the most rewarding vegetables to grow, from chitting and planting through to lifting a plentiful harvest of fresh, home-grown produce. Simply place the tubers, blunt end upwards, in an old egg box until sturdy shoots reach approximately 1-1.5cm (½-1in) before planting.
