If you're looking for an excellent disease-resistant seed potato, Sarpo Mira could be the answer. Bred in Hungary, this exceptional tuber boasts fantastic blight resistance and drought tolerance, ensuring a bountiful harvest even in challenging conditions. As a pink-skinned potato, the Sarpo Mira also seems to be less appealing to slugs than other seed potato varieties.
With its delightfully floury flesh, the Sarpo Mira is a truly versatile all-rounder. The large, regular tubers offer a superb potato flavour and fluffy texture, making them perfect for roasting, baking, mashing, and chipping.
Sarpo seed potatoes have been bred to be hardy and easy to grow, and the seed potato Sarpo Mira is no exception. Producing huge yields with little maintenance, it's a great choice for busy gardeners. Its outstanding qualities have even earned it the prestigious RHS Award for Garden Merit (AGM).
While not essential for this maincrop seed potato, chitting can help provide an earlier crop. Simply place your seed potatoes, blunt end up, in an old egg box until the shoots are approximately 1½ to 2½cm (½ to 1in) long.
Order your Sarpo Mira seed potatoes from D.T. Brown Seeds today - 100% satisfaction guaranteed.

Want to know even more about our seed potato sarpo mira? We answer your questions here.
The best time to plant Sarpo Mira potatoes is from mid-April to late May, when the soil has warmed, and all danger of hard frosts has passed. As a maincrop variety, Sarpo Mira benefits from later planting to ensure sufficient growing time for maximum harvests. It is recommended to plant on a dry day, and seed potatoes benefit from chitting beforehand to promote uniform sprouting.
Sarpo Mira potatoes take approximately 18-20 weeks from planting to reach full maturity. Harvest begins from late September through October, though you can lift a few earlier if needed. For optimal storage quality and maximum crop size, we recommend waiting until the foliage has naturally died back before harvesting.
Sarpo Mira potatoes store exceptionally well for 6 months or longer when kept correctly. After lifting, allow tubers to dry for a few hours, then store in hessian sacks, paper bags, or wooden crates in a cool, dark, frost-free place with good ventilation at 4-8°C. Regularly check for damage or rot, and avoid storing in plastic bags or near onions to prevent moisture buildup and premature sprouting.
