Summer Pudding CollectionThe recipe for summer pudding is so easy, and the results are so delicious, you won't be able to resist. It contains all the tastes of summer in one dish!Which berries you use is up to you - soft summer fruits suitable for summer pudding must have a rich, strong, colour and flavour. Our suggestion of great berries to use include gooseberries, redcurrants and blackcurrants, but more modern recipes frequently use strawberries, raspberries and blueberries too - the choice really is up to you want to use. The berry juice is also very important, so make sure your berries are really ripe when picked. You can also use a mix of frozen berries, just make sure they are thoroughly defrosted before you use them. Our 'Summer Pudding Collection' contains 1 plant each of the following varieties:Blackcurrant Ben Connan - This excellent and reliable blackcurrant tolerates frost and resists mildew to produce a heavy crop of really large, juicy berries with an outstanding flavour. Packed full of goodness, Ben Connan is ready to pick from mid July.Redcurrant Rovada - This is the latest and best redcurrant available in our opinion, cropping from mid July through to August. An established bush of Rovada will yield up to 2.5kg/6lb of juicy berries each year, presented on long strigs.Gooseberry Hinnonmaki Yellow - a late season variety. You can expect to be harvesting plenty greenish/yellow fruits until late July. The fruits have a very interesting, tasty and novel flavour, very fragrant and with a zest of apricot! The bushes have a spreading habit and will crop prolifically. Mildew resistant.Plants will be despatched as dormant, bare root plants for immediate planting in your garden.
