Gourmet Brassica Plant Collection
Product Description
It's time to shine the spotlight on some vegetables that might not be regular guests on your table. Often expensive on the supermarket shelf, these four brassica varieties are all easy to grow and will provide numerous servings for your gourmet recipes.
The collection consists of 40 plants, 10 each of the following varieties:
Broccoli (Purple Sprouting) Burgundy - High quality sprouting type for harvests of tasty, tender spears. A fast growing, reliable cropper.
Broccoli Montebello F1 - Quick and reliable with stems that are tender and tasty. Cutting the main heads will encourage plenty more side shoots.
Kale Nero Di Toscana - Very popular with chefs and striking in the garden, this variety gives plenty of long, dark green, deeply savoyed leaves with a unique texture and flavour. Delicious and a real treat when most veg are scarce. Can be boiled, steamed, added to soups, or eaten raw in salads as baby leaves. First frosts improve its taste and texture. Pick the leaves regularly- can also be used as cut and come again vegetable.
Kalettes Mixed F1 - This British-Bred cross between Brussels sprout and kale produces unusual, open frilly buttons which are much more than just a novelty. The flavour is more akin to spring greens than to either parent while the plants are extremely winter-hardy.
