Blackberry Loch Katrine Plant

Product Description
Blackberry Loch Katrine Plant is the first UK-bred, genuinely sweet blackberry – a real breakthrough for home gardeners. With a super-sweet flavour and a Brix rating of up to 14%, these glossy, aromatic berries are a true dessert blackberry, delicious eaten fresh straight from the plant.
Bred at the renowned James Hutton Institute in Scotland, Loch Katrine produces exceptionally large berries – up to 9g each, around double the size of most garden varieties. Each plant can yield over 400 fruits, giving up to 4kg of crops from mid-early through to the main season, ensuring weeks of plentiful harvests.
Gardeners will also appreciate its thornless stems, making pruning and picking much easier, and its upright canes that grow best when supported with wires. As a floricane variety, it fruits on the previous year’s stems, so simply prune away the fruited canes in late autumn and tie in the new growth for next year’s crop.
This hardy perennial thrives in a sunny position with moist but well-drained soil, rewarding you with bumper crops of sweet, firm, and juicy berries with no bitterness or astringency. Perfect for snacking, baking, freezing, or enjoying straight from the garden.
