Spring Onion Ishikura is a quick-maturing, high-yielding Japanese bunching onion producing long, straight white stems topped with fresh green leaves. The crisp stems have a clean onion flavour that is delicious sliced into salads, stir-fries, noodles and garnishes. It stands well in the ground for an extended picking period, while the biodegradable seed tape contains approximately 430 pre-spaced seeds to make sowing simple.

Sow outdoors March-June. Make a shallow drill around 1.5cm deep where the onions are to crop. Secure one end of the biodegradable seed tape, gently roll it out and cover lightly with fine soil. Allow around 30cm between rows and thin only if necessary. Keep well watered during dry weather. Sow at four-week intervals for a continuous supply and harvest May-October.
