SOW INDOORS February-April, thinly in trays of seed compost. Cover lightly with fine compost, firm gently and keep moist. Seedlings usually appear in 14-35 days. Thin as necessary, harden off and transplant into a sunny or partially shaded position, spacing plants 30cm/12in apart. SOW OUTDOORS March-June, in a prepared seed bed with rows 40cm/16in apart. Cover lightly, keep moist and thin or transplant as necessary. Pick young leaves regularly from April-November.
